Garden Season
In 2021, in the Łazarz district of Poznań (Poland), we carried out a pilot project called ‘Garden Season - let's meet at the allotments’, which concerned the development of a model for the gradual opening of allotment gardens to the local community.
The result of the pilot activities is the publication ‘Catalogue of good practices for opening up ROD’, which presents ideas for different forms of opening up allotment gardens. The catalogue can serve as an inspiration for other allotment gardens that want to open up to a wider range of users, or for local stakeholders such as e.g. schools, kindergartens, community centres, local NGOs, housing estate councils, who can approach local allotment holders with an offer to share the use of allotment areas on terms that they will work out together.
The project was commissioned by City of Poznań and implemented by Zasiej Association (Agnieszka Dragon, Agnieszka Dybowska, Julia Krzywicka).
